About Jagslist

     Many college students in today’s day in age outsource streams of income to avoid the traditional “asking parents for money” troupe. Some students apply for scholarships or grants to obtain usually large one-time sums of money. Others work a job to obtain a steady income. Another population of students generates their own revenue as entrepreneurs.

   

   Being a student here at Southern University for 4 years now, I have come to patronize many of the businesses and services owned and provided by my fellow students. Upon becoming a customer and client of these student-run businesses, I found that the most common way of discovering these businesses was through word of mouth via social media. After reflecting, I came to the conclusion that Southern University students should have one centralized place to be able to see all of the goods and services located right on campus. Thus, Jagslist was born. 

 

    Jagslist is a website developed by a site creation software called Wix. The goal of Jagslist is to serve as a hub for the student-run businesses of Southern University and Agricultural College, Baton Rouge. Jagslist will provide the names, contacts, and purchasing and booking links for SUBR businesses. The businesses are featured on the site alphabetically and are organized by shop or service then by category. With the presence of Jagslist, SUBR students will be able to easily locate, book, and shop with the business of their fellow classmates.
